About

I am in the third year of my PhD and work in the group of Modelling Infectious Diseases (MID).
Currently, I am working on the following topics:
1. Statistical analysis of the co-infection between HCV and HIV in injecting drug users (IDUs) using multivariate statistical models (marginal models, random-effects models).
2. Research about the estimation of the prevalence and the force of infection of air-borne infectious diseases by means of mixture models. Analysis of Parvovirus B19 data from Belgium and measles data from Tuscany, Italy.
3. ECDC Project 2009/002 for an analysis of Varicella in Europe. Collaboration with Ziv Shkedy, Piero Manfredi (University of Pisa, IT), Alessia Melegaro (Bocconi University, IT), Gianpaolo Scalia Tomba (University of Roma “Tor Vergata”, IT) and Piero Poletti (Bruno Kessler Foundation, IT). Analysis of the prevalence and force of infection of varicella in Europe by using social contact structures and mixture models.
